When the Palace Becomes a Circus: The Decline of Western Leadership

·

,

“When a Clown moves into a Palace, he doesn’t become a King. The Palace instead becomes a Circus.” This Turkish proverb aptly captures the current state of affairs, particularly regarding Western leaders, with some notable exceptions.

On January 29, 2025, Republicans attempted to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) in response to the court’s arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence minister over Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. However, this effort was blocked by Democrats.

In a press briefing in West Jerusalem on November 27, 2024, US Senator Lindsey Graham stated, “The Rome Statute doesn’t apply to Israel, the United States, France, Germany, or Great Britain because it wasn’t conceived to come after us.” This reflects a deeply ingrained colonial mentality within the West, showing a lack of respect for international laws when they conflict with their interests, while using these same tools against the Global South.

Respecting treaties is among the highest human values. Personally, I believe that what distinguishes humans from animals is our ability to enter into contracts based on promises and adhere to them, even when faced with significant sacrifices. However, the Anglo-Saxons exhibit a level of shamelessness and hypocrisy that is alarming. Even renowned American economist Jeffrey Sachs and world-renowned political scientist John Mearsheimer, known for accurately predicting the current  Ukraine-Russia war following the CIA and MI6-orchestrated coup  in 2014 that overthrew a democratic government, have cautioned that one should not trust the West, especially America. The divide between the West and the rest is very real now.

In early February 2025, during an interview with a reporter, the Russian President remarked, “I assure you, Trump, with his character and persistence, will restore order quickly. All European leaders will stand at the master’s feet, gently wagging their tails.”

It is high time for Europeans to awaken from their delusions and break free from the Anglo-Saxon trap, which has brought unimaginable misery to Europeans due to colonial greed, exemplified by World Wars I and II. Ask any ordinary European if they care whether Ukraine joins NATO, and I doubt they do; most are even unaware that this conflict was provoked by the Anglo-Saxons through their efforts to bring Ukraine into NATO.

In early February 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump proposed that the United States “take over” the Gaza Strip, which is part of the UN observer state Palestine, relocate its Palestinian population, and transform the area into the “Riviera of the Middle East”.

This blatant racist superiority complex of West must no longer be tolerated. Leaders of the Global South need to start implementing counter-sanctions against these countries. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that the world can survive without Western technology. Before colonization, China and India together accounted for 40% of the world’s GDP, and they are reclaiming that position. Both countries can now meet the world’s needs and wants.

India’s SaaS solutions, Russian search engines , Chinese AI application and open-source solutions can easily replace American web solutions. When it comes to manufacturing, China remains the world’s factory, and it’s unlikely any other country will surpass this position in the coming decades.

Here is a list of SaaS applications made in India and other countries as alternatives to U.S.-based applications:

European leaders should focus more on the welfare of their people rather than serving as puppets of the United States. Consider the tax rates and the cost of living in Europe. Just look at the percentage of the population living below the poverty line in the top 10 economies.

Having traveled to around 40 countries, I can confidently say that Europe is sleepwalking into another disaster by fighting America’s proxy war. Instead of focusing on their own people’s welfare, European leaders remain entangled in conflicts driven by Anglo-Saxon interests. In contrast, the Chinese government’s development achievements—dubbed by economists as the “Miracle of the Century”—stand out, having lifted one billion people out of poverty since 1990. This stark difference highlights the need for Europe to rethink its priorities and break free from external manipulation.
